Fostering Dialogic Engagement: Toward an Architecture of Social Media for Social Change

Dialogic theory and engagement hold great potential as frameworks for thinking about how social media can facilitate public discussions issues. Of course, having the dialogue is very different than finding actual instances of dialogic engagement. This article explores philosophical technical features that need to be present used dialogically. Through metaphor “architecture,” this reimagines communication through media. We introduce four design including user expectations, engagement, content curation, sustainment may fostering change.
